INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS

Charlestown Golf Club offers a picturesque and challenging 18 hole golf course that is appealing to golfers playing at all levels. The club house boasts a friendly atmosphere and stunning vista. ‘Charlies on Barker’ presents quality food at affordable prices. The award winning professional shop is fully staffed by qualified professional coaches, and stocks a full range of golf equipment, golf merchandise and clothing.

The course, club house and professional shop are open to members and visitors 7 days a week.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

– 7 Day members are over 18 years of age and entitled to play in all unconditional competitions run by the Charlestown Golf Club match committee. 7 day members are entitled to attend and vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; subject to Rule 27.4, nominate for and be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution).

– 6 Day members are over 18 years of age and are entitled to play in all unconditional competitions except Saturday. A member in this category can only play in a Saturday competition when there are no 7 day members wanting an available timeslot. The 6 day member is then required to pay the same competition fee as a visiting play. 6 day members are entitled to attend and vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; subject to Rule 27.4, nominate for and be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution).

Intermediate members are over 18 years of age but under 23 years of age, and are entitled to play in all unconditional competitions. Intermediate members are entitled to attend and vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; subject to Rule 27.4, nominate for and be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution).

Juniors are under 18 years of age, and have all golfing entitlements of 7 Day member. Junior playing members are not entitled to vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; nominate for or be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution)

– Charlie’s Golfing Angels are eligible to play in Wednesdays 9 hole competitions only. No Golf Link endorsed handicap or Golf Link number will be allocated and members will not be eligible to play in Charlestown Golf Club competitions Members are eligible to play socially (during nominated times) at the nominated rate. Charlie’s Golfing Angels are not entitled to vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; nominate for or be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution).

Social Playing members are eligible to play socially (during nominated times) at the nominated rate. Members may participate in Charlestown Golf Club 9 hole Friday chook run competition only. No Golf Link endorsed handicap or Golf Link number will be allocated and members will not be eligible to play in any other Charlestown Golf Club competition. Social Playing Members are not entitled to vote at general meetings (including Annual General Meetings) of the Club; nominate for or be elected to hold office on the Board; vote in the election of the Board; vote on any Special Resolution (including a Special Resolution to amend this Constitution).

Charlestown Vets are Charlestown Golf Club financial ladies and gentlemen members 50 and 55 years of age and over respectively.

– Social members over 18 years of age wishing to enjoy the club house facilities.
