Club History

The first efforts to establish a Golf Course was in July 1966, but it was not until September 1971 that the way was cleared to form a Club and develop an area.

On 18th October 1971 attended by 200-250 people the opening was held at Charlestown Community Centre and Charlestown Golf Club was formed. Elected officers were as follows: Jack Barker Vice: A. De Martin Secretary: S. Powell: C. Clark Captain: N. Fleming Honorary Solicitor: Michael Hill Committee: E. Donohue, R. Wilson, L. Witherdin, W. Chapman, R. Hughes, R. Guildford, I. Southwick, R. Faulkiner, D. Owens, F. Quested.

Fees were set at Members: $20, Associates: $10, Husband and Wife: $25.

A modest weatherboard cottage was the original Clubhouse.

The bar and restaurant have exquisite views across several fairways and greens with an outside dining option available on the deck overlooking the 18th green.
